【摘要】:Thepurposeofthismethodistoremovehydrogensulfideandtoreducethemercaptancontentinhydrocarbons,whichareliquidatroomtemperature,byextractionwithsodiumhydroxideunderstandardizedconditions.Thetreateddistillatemaybeprocessedfurtherinapilotplantortestedforpropertiesotherthanhydrogensulfideandmercaptancontent.Suchadditionalprocessingortestingisbeyondthescopeofthismethod.Theresultsobtainedbythismethodcanalsobecorrelatedempiricallywithresultsfromacommercialextractorasacheckforextractorperformance.Whenthecharacteristicsofagivenextractorareknownintermsofthistest,thisprocedurecanbeusedtoestimateresultstobeexpectedwhenextractinganewstock.Thistypeofcorrelationisalsobeyondthescopeofthismethod.
